Your Privacy Matters

The most important thing when choosing a Vintage Pinup and Boudoir Photographer is safety and privacy. We know there are a lot of Vintage Pinup and Boudoir Photographers out there that maybe don’t take all of the measures they should when it comes to this, same too with paying business insurances and taxes, all the fun stuff (hear that sarcasm..?). We are an all-women run business, and YOU are the most important thing to us. From the moment you walk in until the second you leave, you are our number one priority. We keep the doors locked at all times to ensure maximum privacy. We have a private room with frosted windows and curtains for you to close while changing to make sure you feel comfortable changing.

What is a Model Release?

A model release is a legal document that gives the photographer permission to use your images for promotional and commercial purposes. For Pearl Davies Photography, this means using your photos in our portfolio, on our website and social media channels or in marketing materials (such as our print examples and email newsletters). While the idea of giving someone else permission to use your images might seem daunting, signing a model release is not as scary as it may seem. With Pearl Davies Photography you have COMPLETE control of which photos we can use and when we post them, you have complete control over the privacy of your images.

In this writeup we’ll explore the reasons why signing a model release is important, what it entails, and how to ensure you feel comfortable with the process. We’ll also discuss some common misconceptions about model releases. By the end of this read you’ll be equipped with all the information you need to confidently sign a model release and enjoy your photoshoot to the fullest. Sharing your images: When it comes to sharing your images (or not), YOU are the one who makes that choice. During your booking process or after your session we'll have you complete a simple release form that gives you control of what we share and what we don't. Some people love having their images shared by me, others don't want any shared at all. It can be such a personal journey. Maybe you only want us to share anonymous images, images that won't identify who you are - totally fine too. We will go over this with you in detail in person so there is no confusion.

You are in control:

The most important thing to know with your model release is that you are in control. Don’t want your face in any of the photos? No problem. Only okay with the monochrome (black and white) images? You got it. If you sign a model release with Pearl Davies Photography, I give you the freedom to choose which images you want shared. We typically cover all social media channels and my website, but if you have a specific time frame in mind for posting your photos (like if they’re going to be a gift for someone), we can specify that as well. If you have any questions about your model release, just ask. I am all about your comfort, your privacy and your happiness. I would never share an image you weren’t comfortable with sharing, and there is absolutely no pressure on my end for you to share any of your images at all. Of course I would love to show off your images to the world, but only with your permission. I have a lot of clients that are teachers, nurses, public servants who wish for absolute discretion, you got it toots! Even without these titles we are all individuals and are all in different places when it comes to our privacy. You and your privacy are my number one priority, along with feeling 100% comfortable during the process. If you have any questions at all I am an open book and want to be as transparent as possible, so ask away.
